BEANNACHT<\/strong><\/p>\n

 <\/p>\n

On the day when<\/strong><\/p>\n

the weight deadens<\/strong><\/p>\n

on your shoulders<\/strong><\/p>\n

and you stumble,<\/strong><\/p>\n

may the clay dance<\/strong><\/p>\n

to balance you.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And when your eyes<\/strong><\/p>\n

freeze behind<\/strong><\/p>\n

the grey window<\/strong><\/p>\n

and the ghost of loss<\/strong><\/p>\n

gets in to you,<\/strong><\/p>\n

may a flock of colours,<\/strong><\/p>\n

indigo, red, green,<\/strong><\/p>\n

and azure blue<\/strong><\/p>\n

come to awaken in you<\/strong><\/p>\n

a meadow of delight.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

When the canvas frays<\/strong><\/p>\n

in the currach of thought<\/strong><\/p>\n

and a stain of ocean<\/strong><\/p>\n

blackens beneath you,<\/strong><\/p>\n

may there come across the waters<\/strong><\/p>\n

a path of yellow moonlight<\/strong><\/p>\n

to bring you safely home.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

May the nourishment of the earth be yours,<\/strong><\/p>\n

may the clarity of light be yours,<\/strong><\/p>\n

may the fluency of the ocean be yours,<\/strong><\/p>\n

may the protection of the ancestors be yours.<\/strong><\/p>\n

And so may a slow<\/strong><\/p>\n

wind work these words<\/strong><\/p>\n

of love around you,<\/strong><\/p>\n

an invisible cloak<\/strong><\/p>\n
